Indian Oil on Canvas Painting of Lord Ganesha Dancing, ‘Dancing Ganesha II’

This colorful work, signed by Indian artist Sadhana, portrays Lord Ganesha, remover of obstacles, engaging in the i Dandiya /i or stick dance. He uses his lower hands to play the sitar while his upper hands keep time on the bamboo batons that are the hallmark of the traditional dance. Lord Ganesha frolics so enthusiastically that he has shaken many of the flowers from his garland to the ground.
